Google Opinion Rewards is a free survey app from Google for Android, current version 2026090700. You download it from Google Play, answer short questionnaires from time to time, and receive Google Play credit that can go toward apps, games, books or subscriptions.
The idea is simple market research. Companies want to know what people think about products, ads, shops and services, and Google collects those answers through its survey platform. Instead of a long form, the app sends you a notification when a survey matching your profile is available. Most surveys are a handful of questions: which store you visited recently, which of two logos you prefer, whether you have seen an ad. When you finish, the reward is added to your Google Play balance. Surveys do not come on a schedule: some weeks bring several, some none at all, and how often you get them depends on your country, your profile and the demand from advertisers. It is not a way to earn money, but for people who buy apps or pay for subscriptions it slowly covers small purchases. The app also exists for iOS.
More details about the program are on the official page.
You need an Android phone or tablet with Google Play and a Google account, and the program must be available in your country. The app itself is light, about 5.91 MB according to catalogue data. Some surveys ask about places you have visited; they rely on location history, which you can keep off if you prefer.
The app comes from Google and is distributed through Google Play, so get it only there and avoid copies from other sites. Before you start, read what data the surveys use and check the location settings of your account. You can skip any question you do not want to answer by closing the survey, and you can stop using the app at any time.
Google Opinion Rewards is free. You are paid for answers, not the other way round. Credit usually has an expiry date, so spend it on things you actually want.
Survey apps are not common in our Android tools section, but Google Play Store itself is where the credit is spent, and Google App and Google Translate come from the same developer. For managing purchases, the Play Store's own subscription settings are enough.
